The announcement came Tuesday, April 27th at United Way's 87th Annual Meeting, sponsored by Xcel Energy.  Over 300 attended the celebration luncheon at Pueblo Community College.  United Way took the opportunity to recognize the outstanding campaigns that exhibited excellence in volunteerism, corporate leadership and as campaign coordinators.  The United Way ambassador award went to IBEW Local #12. The corporate leadership awards went to Xcel Energy and Black Hills Energy. The campaign coordinator awards went to the Parkview Medical Center Campaign Team and the Xcel Energy - Comanche Station Team.

At the meeting United Way was presented with several final checks to help make the campaign total.  Wells Fargo presented a $5,000 check and Xcel Energy presented a $166,735.00 check.

Special thanks to Parkview and Black Hills Energy for coordinating campaigns exceeding $50,000.  Special thanks to Xcel Energy for coordinating an excellent campaign exceeding $100,000.

We would like to thank outgoing board members Frank Pacheco- Pueblo Housing Authority and Dan Cordova- St. Mary Corwin Medical Center for their support and dedication.  We would like to welcome our newest Board of Trustee members, Gerald Gabbard, Dave Galli, Rudy Krasovec, Tom Ruth and returning for another term Lou Braden.
