Economic Impact Payment Outreach Project Extended, Offered at New Location

United Way of Pueblo County has extended its project aiding non-tax filing individuals in filing to receive the Economic Impact Payments established and disbursed by the Treasury Department in the spring.

Previously expected to end October 15, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) extended the deadline to apply for stimulus check payments to November 21.

The United Way of Pueblo County Economic Impact Payment Outreach Project will run every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., noon through November 18 at a new location: Pueblo Rescue Mission, 728 W. 4th Street. The filing station will be staffed by UWPC IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers and the VITA program coordinator.

Individuals requesting service will need to know their Social Security card number. Only those who do not file income taxes due to lack of income or who are experiencing homelessness are eligible for assistance.  Checks for persons without a permanent address will be sent to the Pueblo Rescue Mission and held until picked up by the filing individual. For more information, call VITA Program Coordinator Judith Boudreaux at 719-296-8768.
